Sam listened and for the first time in LA someone was willing to be honest with her, someone willing to at least hear her story without trying to get her in the bed. Sam thanked the driver for his honesty and asked "How did you get so wise" the driver only then told her of his heartache and disappointments in LA, how he had spent many a years just trying to get a meeting with a studio. He explained that he was driving the taxi to refresh his skills and to research his upcoming movie.
